ON June 13 Laurel and Ian Dawson, of Australia, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
They say it was a wonderful day, both event and weather wise.
The plan was to hold a gathering on the verandah but a wonderful sunny day allowed them to move all the tables out into the garden for a barbecue lunch. They had about 70 people present.
The day before they had a much smaller party at the Hospital Nursing Home for Laurel's mother for her 105th birthday. As she was out for the anniversary celebration next day she was able to catch up with many more relatives and friends.
